What is Intense Pulsed Light Treatment?

If your skin has visible sun damage such as brown spots or red spots, or you have redness and visible facial blood vessels, Lumecca is a fantastic treatment choice.

Lumecca is an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment that can dramatically improve your complexion and the clarity of your skin, as well as reducing the appearance of pigmented and vascular lesions, such as age spots, sun damage, spider veins, port wine stains, leg telangiectasias, rosacea, and freckles. This treatment can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, legs, arms, and hands.

This treatment by inmode has been optimised for light and dark skin tones, which means that we are able to treat a wider variety of skin types and conditions than ever before. Lumecca is more sophisticated than past IPL treatments and offers a high level of comfort, as well as noticeable results.

Intense Pulsed Light Treatment FAQ’s

  • IPL systems work on the same principles as laser systems in that they deliver light energy which is absorbed into particular target cells with colour (chromophores) within the skin. The light energy is converted to heat energy, which then destroys the targeted cells and stimulates the body’s natural healing response to create new collagen.
  • IPL systems have been widely used for many years but have an inconsistent reputation. Lumecca has changed all that. Lumecca is a third generation IPL system that has in-built cooling technology to make the treatment comfortable and safe. Lumecca is also exceptional because it enables us to block out lower and higher wavelengths to create a treatment that’s closer to laser treatment and gives quicker, more consistent results. Lumecca is ideal for photorejuvenation treatments – in other words, improving the appearance of problems caused by sun damage such as brown spots, red spots, and spider veins. The system offers short and longer pulse options, as well as regular or strong cooling, the latter of which is ideal if you have a darker skin tone.
  • With Lumecca, you may need just one or two treatments to boost your collagen production, shrink your pores, and remove areas of sun damage. Previous IPL devices typically required four to five treatments to achieve the same results. Of course, every person is different, so we will discuss the number of treatments we think you will need at your initial free consultation.
  • Lumecca is ideal for use in conjunction with Forma skin tightening or Fractora skin resurfacing treatments.
