What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is an increasingly popular treatment that delivers nourishing minerals, vitamins and amino acids to the mesoderm, the layer of fat and tissue under the skin. Each mesotherapy treatment can be adapted to your individual needs, so that you are injected with a bespoke formula of pharmaceuticals, hyaluronic acid, natural extracts, vitamins, minerals, and homeopathic agents uniquely, tailored to your skin.

With a mesotherapy treatment, we can help improve the appearance of dull, tired-looking skin and superficial wrinkles to rejuvenate your face, neck and body. Mesotherapy can also be used to reduce localised fat and cellulite, and improve the appearance of stretchmarks, making it a popular body contouring and weight loss treatment. This treatment can even be used on your hair to give it a revitalised, thicker and glossier appearance; perfect for those who’s hair lacks shine and lustre. You should only ever seek mesotherapy through a skilled and experienced medical professional.

Mesotherapy FAQ’s

  • Mesotherapy is an innovative non-surgical cosmetic treatment designed to improve your blood flow, stimulate collagen and elastin production, and break down fat cells. During the treatment we administer numerous injections of FDA-approved pharmaceuticals, natural extracts, vitamins, minerals, and homeopathic agents into the mesoderm. One of the many benefits of mesotherapy is that the injections can be tailored to your individual needs. Mesotherapy has also been found to help with hair regrowth and pain reduction. After a mesotherapy treatment, you should see a significant reduction in the appearance of cellulite, noticeable weight loss and an improvement in the health of your skin. Mesotherapy is also an ideal treatment for body sculpting and facial rejuvenation.
  • Prior to your treatment, we will have an in-depth consultation with you to discuss what you would like the treatment to achieve. We will then formulate the contents of the injections with this in mind, explaining the contents so that you understand our plan for the treatment. We may apply a topical local anaesthetic if we feel that this will improve your comfort during the treatment, especially if we will be working on sensitive areas of the face or body. A series of superficial injections can be given by hand or by using an injection device that delivers rapid injections into larger areas.
  • The number of treatments you need will usually depend on what we are using mesotherapy to treat. For weight loss/reduction, for example, you may need two to four treatments at intervals of two to four weeks. With cellulite reduction, three to four treatments are usually necessary at intervals of three to four weeks. For facial rejuvenation, we may recommend four treatments at two- to three-week intervals. Once we have reached the optimum results for your treatment, you may opt to have a top-up procedure every two to three months.
  • Mesotherapy is a medical technique that was devised in the 1950s and has been widely used in France and other parts of Europe for many years. It is now growing in popularity in the UK. It is important to know that although the pharmaceuticals used in mesotherapy have been individually approved for use by the FDA, mesotherapy itself has not been subject to any significant clinical trials. It is, therefore, essential that you seek your treatment from an experienced and highly qualified medical doctor, like Dr Gauba, rather than looking for cut-price mesotherapy treatments with non-medical practitioners.
