This aesthetic treatment targets often unsightly thread veins from the legs in a safe, painless way to leave you with unblemished legs. Sclerotherapy involves injecting a sclerosing agent into the veins at various points. This solution induces the collapse of the veins due to compression and irritation from the solution. This is a safe treatment which does not cause harm to the surrounding areas of the body.
As the leg veins collapse, they’re absorbed by your body over time which significantly improves the appearance of your legs and gives a more youthful appearance.

A very fine needle will be used to inject the sclerosing agent (which is a chemical solution) into the thread veins on your legs. If the leg veins are large, we may inject into a few different locations of the vein.
The number of treatments needed to see effective results will depend on the severity of the thread leg veins being treated. You will likely see results after one treatment but we recommend to achieve the best results a course of 2-4 treatments each spaced 6 weeks apart.
Most patients notice the effects of their treatment for leg veins within a few weeks, however as the body absorbs the veins over time, some will notice the results continuing over the following few months post-treatment.
You can resume your daily activities once your sclerotherapy treatment is finished. We’ll provide you with compression hosiery to wear after your treatment day and night for the first 3 days, and they may recommend an additional 3 days if the thread veins are large. We also recommend avoiding any anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen or aspirin for 48 hours after your treatment, as well as hot baths, saunas, and direct sunlight.
