If you’ve ever wondered if there’s a long-term way to improve and protect the health of your skin, then VISIA skin surface imaging is a great way to form an in-depth understanding of what’s happening within the different layers of your skin and what treatments might give you the best results.
With VISIA skin surface imaging we are able to carry out a skin and complexion analysis that uses multi-spectral imaging to look under the surface of your skin to reveal damage and signs of ageing that the human eye may not be able to see yet.
From these images and the accompanying VISIA report, we can evaluate the health and appearance of your skin, looking at wrinkles, spots, pores, skin tone colour variation, texture, sun damage and evidence of bacteria in your pores, in particular.
With the information we can gain from VISIA skin surface imaging, we can detect emerging problems before they become visible and address them at any early stage. We also find that it is helpful to have the initial pre-treatment VISIA images to refer back to, so you can see the difference your treatment has made as tangible side-by-side images.

VISIA is a cutting-edge imaging system which lets us capture consistent, repeatable and perfectly registered facial images – including left, right and frontal facial views – so that we can document the progress of your aesthetic treatments over time. VISA offers a range of exciting 3D visual tools, side-by-side comparisons, and detailed analysis of your skin. This innovative system uses IntelliFlash®, cross-polarised and UV lighting to record and measure surface and sub-surface skin conditions. UV photography provides the most complete data set available for sun damage assessment and analysis. The system is also able to separate the unique colour signatures of red and brown skin components so we can perfectly visualise conditions such as spider veins, acne, rosacea and hyperpigmentation.
Yes. When you opt to have a comprehensive VISIA analysis, we will give you access to the resulting report so that you have the information you need to support your treatment plan. This report will give you your skin age, your physiological age, and personalised skincare recommendations. You can also see aesthetic simulations, treatment recommendations and educational content from the comfort of your own home using a secure, password-protected VISIA web portal. We find that VISIA imaging is a fantastic way for you to feel in charge of your treatment and to get an objective assessment of its results, as you can see comparable before and after pictures for a side-by-side comparison.
Although you can wear make-up while we are taking images of your face with VISIA, we recommend that you come into the clinic with a recently cleansed face so that we can take a ‘clean’ image of your skin.
Although we will always carry out a detailed free skin consultation before discussing your treatment options, we find that the VISIA skin and complexion analysis is valuable for several reasons. You will have the opportunity to see what’s actually happening on and below the surface of your skin, and to understand how the treatments we discuss relate to your individual complexion. You will also have an objective reference point. Without your VISIA images, you may know that your treatment has worked but the improvement is often more dramatic when we’re able to compare before and after images of what is happening under your skin as well as what’s visible.
