Silhouette Soft helps create a smoother, more toned texture to your skin whilst also defining the contours of your face. This is achieved through two effects; an immediate respositioning of tissue and a gradual regeneration of collagen.
The repositioning of tissue has a subtle but immediate effect. When the sutures are implanted into your skin, there is an elevation of skin and compression of tissues. This allows Doctor Victoria to reshape the contours of your face effectively.
The regenerative effect is more gradual and occurs due to the principal component of Silhouette Soft sutures: Poly L-lactic acid (PLLA). These sutures are biodegradable over time but the natural foreign body which is inserted into the skin stimulates the production of new collagen. This new collagen helps improve the firmness of the skin and restores shapeliness to the face and neck.

Silhouette Soft treatment is unfortunately not appropriate for everybody. The ideal patient must have good skin quality which is not too thin or too thick. Silhouette Soft works best for those wanting treatment around the mid-face, jaw line, brow, nasolabial folds, marionette lines or moderate sagging of skin around the neck.
You may notice some slight inflammation around the treated area after your treatment which can also result in minor swelling or bruising. This will, however, fade over the following few days. Some patients experience skin tightness but again, this fades a few days after your treatment.
Prior to your treatment, we will apply a local anaesthesia to the area to help reduce any discomfort. We then mark out the exact position where we will be injecting the sutures into the skin. Once the area is numb, the first needle is inserted into the skin, pulling the suture and cones under the skin. The second needle is threaded through the same hole in the opposite direction. Once the suture is in the correct position, it can be gently tightened by your physician to lift the skin and tissue where needed.
