Calf Reduction

Improve the appearance of your calves and reduce the appearance of large, muscular muscles which may be genetic or developed through certain exercises. We use Botox to give women slim, shaped calves they want to show off when wearing skirts or shorts.

What is Calf Reduction ?

Just as Botox injections can be used to improve facial features for those with ageing skin, we can also use Botox in the calves to change the shape of the muscles. The gastrocnemius muscle is the major muscle in the calf which gives that bulky appearance.

When we inject Botox into these muscles, they become inactive and gradually begin to shrink it size. This reduction in size gives your calves smoother, slimmer and more attractive contours than before. There is little discomfort during the treatment but we can also apply a topical numbing cream if you need.

Results continue to increase all the way through the skin renewal cycle which can be 4-6 weeks later. With continued use of the Skinade drinks, your skin will continue to improve, leaving you with smooth, soft skin which is firmer, more radiant and a more even tone and texture.

Will it affect my activity or lifestyle?

Although we are injecting Botox into major calf muscles to reduce the appearance of large, bulky calves there is no restriction to your mobility or function of the calves. You can continue your daily activities straight after treatment, just with slimmer calves than before.

When will I see results?

The gastrocnemius muscles are large muscles, so once we inject the Botox and make them inactive, it can take a while to see the full effects of your treatment. Most patients will see their results peak 2-3 months after their treatment.

Are there any side effects?

Calf reduction is not a permanent solution to calf size which does reduce the number of side effects significantly. Some patients notice some mild swelling, bruising and weakness in their calf muscles initially after their treatment. These effects wear off within a few days though and there are no reports of any other side effects.
