The number of sessions needed to reach your final results will depend on the area being treated and severity of skin damage or scars. On average, most patients achieve their best results with about 3-6 sessions which are spaced out every 4-6 weeks.
As we are working with lasers, there is some heat energy which you may experience during treatment, however, most patients say there’s a very little discomfort. Some patients would describe the sensation as something similar to a light sunburn. There is no need for any topical numbing creams or anesthetics.
The iPixel fractional resurfacing laser creates microcolumns of perforations on your skin during treatment. This leads to rapid healing processes and the production of collagen and elastin is stimulated. This healing process helps to improve the texture of your skin without causing any damage to healthy skin. As more collagen is produced, scars and pigmentations begin to fade so your skin appears to have a more radiant look.
After treatment, there may be some mild swelling which can last up to 5 days, but this also depends on the area being treated. Some redness and that light sunburn sensation should be gone within 48 hours post-treatment. During the healing process, we recommend avoiding exfoliants on your skin and only using products made for sensitive skin. This will help you achieve the best results.
